Founded in 2026, Jonker Dams Engineering is an independent dam engineering consultancy led by Marius Jonker.
The firm provides comprehensive dam engineering and dam safety expertise and advisory services across the entire infrastructure lifecycle, from planning and design through construction, operation, and eventual decommissioning, guided by ANCOLD guidelines, Australian regulatory requirements, and international practice.

Marius is a Chartered Professional Engineer (Civil), RPEQ, and RPEV, with over 35 years of specialist experience in dams and hydropower.
He has a master’s degree in civil engineering, and majored in Water Engineering and Hydraulic Structures.
His project experience spans concrete gravity dams, roller compacted concrete (RCC) dams, concrete arch dams, embankment dams, and buttress dams, up to 140 m in height, across Australia, South-East Asia, and Africa.
He is the chair of the ANCOLD Working Group for the Guidelines on Outlet Works and served on the working group for the 2013 Guidelines on Design Criteria for Concrete Gravity Dams.
